I don't just drop teams on site and head to the pub; I'm involved in every aspect of the process, from selecting the finest timber and board products to meticulously sandpapering and even cleaning the floors. Here at Dust Factory I do kitchen renovation from small kitchens to big kitchens. I specialise in bespoke kitchens with a difference, Solid wood tops, farmhouse style hand painted or spray painted, ultra modern high gloss, solid wood and melamine.
All work is done by me personally, I am of the opinion that if you want something done right, it's best to do it myself, I have tried using others in the past and had very little success. At one time I had 13 people working for me and all I did was fix problems and earn a whole lot less.
I do a full 3D design for every kitchen renovation that requires a full layout design and multiple units, Every design is coloured so that you can see what you can expect. Colours do vary on screen so looking at the samples is very important. The options for 3d design are,
There are two options when it comes to 3D design, I do it free and you get pictures showing the kitchen from 2 angles within your free quotation. No dimensions or plans will be supplied.
Only the colours chosen at our meeting will be available.
For clients that live further than 40kms from Lyttleton Manor and clients that want plans to get alternative quotes.
I supply a full set of plans for the kitchen and multiple views and 3 different colour combinations. I also supply a short walk through type video.
Cost R 2000.00
Should you accept my quote, the R 2000 will be deducted from the overall investment.
Small kitchens need a little flexibility and creative use of every bit of space. I have designed kitchens since 1987 and know that wasting space that can be efficiently utilised is not sensible.
Designing small kitchens means multiple uses for every space, creating enough work area and storage can be challenging. Standard design practices may be used as a guide but are not always practical in small spaces.
Badly designed Kitchens create uncomfortable cooking areas. The most important information a kitchen designer needs to design your kitchen is what type of kitchen are we designing? All show and no cooking? Family gathering kitchen? A chefs paradise? or a bakers delight? or a combination of these facets.
Back in the 1980's people talked about triangles in design, I always thought this was a little wrong because kitchens consist of four main areas. Storage or Pantry, Preparation and Cooking, Serving and then Cleaning. I like to use two triangles in my design. Storage Prep and Serving, Serving, cleaning and Storage. The two triangles overlap but when efficiency matters it's a good system.

I will call back and make an appointment to discuss your needs, In that consultation we will discuss colours, options and design criteria. I will take the measurements and spend time at my computer designing. I will send you a quote with the two images or the full set of plans if you ordered them.
Once you accept the quote and pay the deposit, I will order materials and add your project to the schedule. I will supply an approximate delivery date at this time. I work on one project at a time and delays on any prior projects will affect the delivery dates.
Materials will be delivered to my premises and checked. When ready I will deliver to site, The next payment then becomes due
Delivery will occur, Installation will start. At this time I ask you not to interfere with me and my work. I have been doing this for a long time and know that things will seem incomplete, things may even look wrong but they will all be according to plan. Once installation is complete I will advise you that this is the case. The next progress payment will now be due.
Then you have 24 hours to create a snag list. This is when you can point out all of those things that had you concerned during installation if I have not already fixed them. I am human and there will most often be something I missed. Once I have the snag list I will arrange a time and date to repair any snags. Once I have completed the snag list final payment is due.
No changes will be made during installation, If there are any variations and alterations we will discuss them, I will quote for them and make them as needed once payment has been made.

The Dust Factory method is to start by measuring and creating a total design in 3D. This allows you to visualize your dream kitchen as accurately as possible down to the colours and textures.
So that you can get an indication of costs I am going to use 3 basic layouts and cost them for you using 3 different materials. I will use Super White Melamine, Melamine from the demand range and a shaker style sprayed kitchen. To give you an indication on the price of tops, I will use Formica tops, Saligna Tops and Oak tops as examples. Here at Dust Factory I make my own solid wood tops and specialize in Kitchens with solid wood tops.
These prices are valid as I type this on the 15 November 2023. Material prices do change because of exchange rates, cost of living and various other reasons, so if you find this in 2024 or later, look for an updated version of this page, I will add links to the updated costings if I don't just modify this page.
The prices here are for standard units, They include delivery and installation within 40 km of my home base. The minimum installation cost is R 5000.00 plus the cost of the units. I will add a list of units and their prices without delivery and installation at the bottom of this page.
All units come with quality soft close hinges, stainless steel handles, and the drawer runners are heavy duty extendable bearing type, we do not use roller type drawer runners because they are not as good as the bearing type. We also use steel feet on the base with no plinths.

At Dust Factory we don't do cheap and nasty, we do a quality product with minimum specifications, I am not sure exactly what a 5 piece kitchen set is or what it is supposed to achieve. We have modular units and we use the units to create designer kitchens. The kitchens I designed here consist of 5 units and I designed three variations.
These three designs are to give an example and to show what a difference adding a accent colour or a few drawers can make. All of them take the same amount of space 2.25m. The unit is 600mm deep using the top as the deepest part, top units are 300mm deep. All units have 4mm white backing board.
A has an accent colour and one top unit with glass doors and pot drawers.
B has a grocery cupboard, no glass doors.
C has glass doors and no pot drawers.
All three designs include a standard 4 drawer unit. These prices exclude counter tops which vary from R 1500 - R 8000 meter dependant on the tops chosen. We supply Formica, Solid wood, Granite and Quartz tops.
Light rails and scochure work out from approximately R 190.00 a meter including installation.
